This is a description of the 2021 Strike Out Hunger Food & Turkey Giveaway by the Long Foundation:

The Long Foundation, Inc., The Martin Luther King, Jr, Commission of Florida, Inc., Alachua County Christian Pastors Association (ACCPA), Prayers By Faith Ministries, Alachua County Government, City of Gainesville, Bread of The Mighty Food Bank, and The Oaks Mall present The Strike Out Hunger Food & Turkey Giveaway on Thursday, November 18^th, 8:00 am at the Oaks Mall Parking Lot.

This year, over 30,000 pounds of food will be distributed by Bread of The Mighty Food Bank. In addition, 2,000 turkeys will be distributed to families on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients receiving food must be Alachua County residents and meet any of the following requirements:

• Receiving SNAP, TANF, SSI, WIC, or Unemployment
• Live in Public or Subsidized housing
• Child receives free/reduced lunch
• Currently unemployed or has been negatively impacted by Covid-19 Pandemic.
